FINE POINT     NOR-VISE

AUTOMATIC BOBBIN

BOBBIN SPOOLS

This Conversion is designed for fly tying on tubes which are strung onto a leader normally with a small short shanked hook. Very effective patterns especially for large aggressive game fish can be created which also cast quite well. The Nor-Vise Tube Fly conversion comes with four mandrels and will accommodate a wide range of tube materials, sizes and types. The tubes can be rotated, spun and locked on perfect rotational centerline and will not slip, turn or move.

The NOR-VISE “TUBE FLY DESIGN” will accommodate a wide variety of fly tying tubes, from the economical and practical nylon tubing popular in North America to the prepackaged cut to length “Manufactured” metal or plastic covered tube popular in Europe. With softer tubing it is often desirable to use a mandrel (included) to help support the tube while tying, with more rigid tubing this often is not necessary.

The Clamping screw will securely hold the tube and mandrel (if used) to the Collet. The amount of tube extending beyond the collet is determined by the pattern being tied. When completed the finished fly is removed and the rear or clamped section of tube cut to length which will determine where the hook locates. This unique clamping system does not slip or turn on smooth plastic tubes and leaves the end of tube (head of the fly) completely accessible.

Note: If you have an older version of the Nor-Vise with an integral Front Hub/ Arbor it is still possible to change from one design to another. Your “Conversion” can be ordered with a new arbor. To change; remove the black “O” ring, and the Rear Hub will slide off, next remove the the exposed drive disc, now the Arbor and Front Hub assembly will slide out of the ball bearings and can be replaced with your new arbor and Conversion. You can also send in your vise when ordering a new Conversion and have it updated by adding the Friction Clamp and the more convenient changing system.
