Designed
for those tiers who tie a lot of large flies, this conversion of the
Nor-Vise can be used with very tiny hooks yet, its real advantage is
having a rock solid feel when tying the big stuff. The large brass hub
and more massive jaws also develop more inertia for spinning on large
amounts of heavy materials. This is the favorite design for most
saltwater fly tiers retaining the capability for quality and
productivity that is associated with tying on a Nor-Vise.
Note:
If you have an older version of the Nor-Vise with an integral Front Hub/
Arbor it is still possible to change from one design to another. Your
“Conversion” can be ordered with a new arbor. To change; remove the
black “O” ring, and the Rear Hub will slide off, next remove the the
exposed drive disc, now the Arbor and Front Hub assembly will slide out
of the ball bearings and can be replaced with your new arbor and
Conversion. You can also send in your vise when ordering a new
Conversion and have it updated by adding the Friction Clamp and the more
convenient changing system. |
