Mike Kulhawick
Hi. I'm Mike Kulhawick, founder of Trout's
Choice. We are a family owned and operated business.
I have been fly fishing and fly tying for 27 years. I started Trout's Choice in Anchorage, Alaska tying mostly for my own use and friends. Then one
day I walked into a store and they ordered 144 dozen salmon flies. To say the least we tied and tied and TIED!! We then moved to Michigan in
1982 where Trout's Choice began to flourish from our home. We began going to several expos where we had repeat customers year after year. In
1998 my "regular" job moved us to Colorado, where we have once again brought Trout's
Choice out of storage and into the wonderful world of fishing.
I also enjoy teaching others what I have learned. So I offer fly-tying and fly casting lesson to men and women of all ages in the local area.
"If you don't know your flys, know your fly-tyer" has been our logo for many years. If you can't find the fly you are looking for, just send us a
description and we will do our best to tie it for you.
